THE ALAMO aka Fox Falls

So I have finally got all my stuff settled into the new house.

Picture this...a house that sits on a creek with a beautiful waterfall just outside the backdoor. I call it the Alamo because every morning I feel like I am fighting the war for independence from bugs. My poor Gucci sandals have killed more creatures than they ever thought they would see.

I would killed the movers with a quick swat of the Gucci sandals if I thought it would have caused some damage. I will NEVER EVER recommend nor use Aardvark Movers out of Austin EVER AGAIN! They were 7 hours late to get my stuff, and then they were so tired when they got there that I ended up moving more stuff into the truck than they did. I also directed the unpacking of the truck as well.

Getting the appliances delivered was a feat. The refrigerator was delivered by 2 OLD men who drove a truck that was probably as old as them. They could barely unload the fridge from the truck and when I asked them to bring it in through a certain door they about died when they saw they had to move it 20 more feet on the dolly. God bless Home Depot and their need to employ the folks who should be playing bingo! The washer and dryer were delivered without a hitch! Thank god something happened the way it was supposed to.

Moving into the house has created a sense of confidence in me that I hadn't expected it to do. I have been doing small home improvement projects around the house like installing new light fixtures, a new thermostat for the A/C and other small projects like weather stripping all the doors that I never thought I would be capable of doing. I am still scared to attempt some projects that I feel are out of my league, but I have enjoyed "getting my hands dirty".

It's been a great learning experience all the way around.

But sadly enough, I need to combat the depression that has surrounded this move. Finding it harder and harder to get out of bed every morning! I feel like I am not walking in my own shoes.

A new chapter has begun!

So it's official, I finally moved out of the house. For some of you that know I split with the ex back in September of 2007 and JUST recently moved into my new digs. Yes, I have been living the with ex as a roommate for over 9 months. It's been quite a change. After spending 6 years with someone almost everyday, it's weird to come home and it be completely silent.

I don't know who's to blame for the fall out that ended the relationship that I felt like I put my heart and soul into, but I have come to conclusion that looking for answers will only make it harder to move on. My best to you SDS! I am sorry that things played out the way they did!

If you say you are going to do it....DO IT!

What is up these days? When I was taught the difference between right and wrong, it was instilled that not doing what you said you were going to do is the same thing as lying. And just to make it clear...lying is wrong...or at least to some of us it is...those of you who I know lie will remain nameless at this time...

If you say you are going to be somewhere at a particular time, be there! If you say you are going do a certain something...stick to your word and do it!

Your word and honor are 2 things that can be easily tarnished by not following through with what one says they are going to do. For those of you who are notorious for not performing...start with something small and work your way up to the "larger" ticket items. One of the best things to start with is to be on time to appts...when you say you are going to be there...be 5 minutes early...so yourself and others the respect of not throwing someone's entire day off track.
